latest first- Supreme Court dismisses appeal in Tallaght murder case Murder · Co. Dublin
On 18 February 2017, Graham McKeever, aged 32, was stabbed to death at Deerpark Avenue, Tallaght, Dublin, after a fight in Keith Connorton's apartment. Connorton, aged 44, claimed self-defence after returning home at 4am and finding McKeever with his long-term partner Claire McGrath. In 2019 a jury at the Central Criminal Court found Connorton guilty of murder by a 10-to-2 majority and he was sentenced to life imprisonment. The Court of Appeal upheld the conviction, and in July 2023 the Supreme Court unanimously dismissed Connorton's appeal, which concerned the admissibility of a 999 emergency call recording under the res gestae exception to the hearsay rule.
