  Graham Beegan, 45, a Dublin businessman, was charged with coercively controlling his wife and with assaulting and threatening her at their home in Dublin 1. The alleged coercive control, described as emotional, physical and financial and including monitoring with cameras, is said to have occurred between January 2019 and September 2022, with three assaults and four threats in 2021 and 2022. On 28 April 2025, gardaí served a book of evidence at Dublin District Court and Judge Michele Finan granted a return-for-trial order after the DPP directed trial. Beegan is on continuing bail with a no-contact condition and has yet to enter pleas; the case is listed for mention at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on 29 May 2025.
