A Croatian man, Gordan Jakimenko, 39, was sentenced to seven months in prison at Longford Circuit Court for the theft of a house key valued at €5. He took the key from the door of a house at Clonbalt Woods, Longford, on 23 June 2022 and refused to return it to the woman renting a room there. A jury at Longford Circuit Court found him guilty of theft but acquitted him of trespass, threatening to kill and producing a knife.
