Glen Guildea, 28, a man from Balbriggan, Co Dublin, pleaded guilty to possessing over €87,000 worth of cannabis, cocaine and ketamine for sale or supply. On 19 October 2018, at Westbrook Estate, Balbriggan, he was seen handing a plastic shopping bag into a white Volkswagen Polo while walking with his partner and their five-month-old son. Gardaí arrested Guildea, his partner, and the driver of the car, who had been the main target of the operation. The bag contained 910 grammes of cannabis valued at €18,218, and the total value of all drugs seized was estimated at €87,841. On 7 July 2022, Judge Martin Nolan at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court sentenced Guildea to two and a half years in prison.
