  Glen Duff, a 38-year-old man, pleaded guilty to slashing an inmate's face with an implement in the yard of Cloverhill Prison, Dublin, on 16 October 2021, and to a burglary at a pub on Great Strand Street in which the front door was smashed and €300 worth of alcohol was stolen. He was charged with Section 3 assault, also known as assault causing harm. On 25 March 2025, the judge handed down a five-year sentence with the final year suspended on strict conditions, while Duff was already serving a six-year sentence for two robberies in Temple Bar in 2022 and the assault of a tourist. His earliest release date was due to be January 2027.

  An American man in his mid-20s was assaulted and robbed on D'Olier Street, Temple Bar, Dublin, shortly after 2:30am on 17 April 2022, suffering skull and brain injuries when he was kicked in the head, wrestled to the ground and his wallet was taken. A man in his 30s was arrested after a warrant search of a house in County Kildare and was later identified through CCTV footage as Glen Duff, a man now 36. Duff was charged over the first incident in May 2023 and, following a second robbery of an American tourist in Temple Bar in June 2023, pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery and one count of assault causing harm at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. He was sentenced to six years' imprisonment, with the final 15 months suspended on strict conditions.
