On 11 October 2022 at a prior address, Gintaras Jankevicius, a 53-year-old Lithuanian man, raped and sexually assaulted a woman and falsely imprisoned her, telling her he would keep her in his home until she was pregnant. He gave her a knife and told her to use it if she wanted him to stop, and she did not use it. Gardaí arrived after some time and arrested him, and he later pleaded guilty at the Central Criminal Court to rape, sexual assault and false imprisonment. He has been in custody since March 2025, and on 10 November 2025 Mr Justice Paul McDermott sentenced him to 12 years with the final year suspended, to run consecutively to a three-year drugs sentence imposed in April 2025.
