A waste collection worker, Gheorghe Negoita, 44, of Belgard Road, Tallaght, is alleged to have endangered the life of a small black kitten at North King Street in central Dublin on October 11, 2022. Garda Aine McQuillan of Bridewell Garda station charged him earlier in March with an offence under section 12 of the Animal Health and Welfare Act. He appeared before Judge Stephanie Coggans at Dublin District Court on Friday, March 29, 2024, where no facts of the alleged incident were outlined and he has yet to indicate a plea. He will be granted legal aid once he provides a statement of his means, and the case was adjourned to April, when he is due to appear again.
