Gerard McVeigh, 43, a man from Clondalkin with no fixed address in Dublin 22, was observed by a plainclothes garda holding his erect penis with foreskin pulled back for 20 seconds in the Marks & Spencer toilet on Mary Street, Dublin, on 16 June 2021. He pleaded not guilty to an offence under the Sexual Offences Act. He was found guilty before Judge Michele Finan at Dublin District Court in November 2022. In February 2023, he was given a three-month suspended sentence on condition he kept the peace and did not re-offend for 12 months.
