Gerard Daly, a 34-year-old man, was charged with intoxication and using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour after being ejected from PV Fallon's pub on Ballymahon Street, Longford, at 1.20am on 16 October 2022. He became violent and highly intoxicated and used foul language when gardaí spoke to him. At Longford District Court, Judge John Brennan gave him the benefit of the Probation Act after a €150 contribution to the court poor box. He had previous convictions dating back to 2007 but had not been in trouble since, and is employed as a plasterer in stable employment.
