On 13 July 2023 a 10-year-old girl was injured in a road traffic collision at Fanmore, Falcarragh, County Donegal. Geraldine Havlin, a 58-year-old woman of Dungorman, Castlefin (one report says 59), was arrested and charged on 17 April 2024 with driving without due care and attention causing serious bodily harm, and a separate dangerous driving charge is also reported. She was remanded on bail by Falcarragh District Court to 17 July 2024, and in June 2025 a District Court judge refused jurisdiction after hearing of the girl's injuries. In February 2026 she affirmed her guilty plea at Letterkenny Circuit Court before Judge John Aylmer, and no sentence has been imposed; the judge has asked for an assessment of her suitability for community service.
