  A 23-year-old woman, Geovana Brandao, was stopped at a Garda checkpoint in Edenderry, Offaly, for not wearing a seatbelt and subsequently failed a roadside drug test. She was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving and the vehicle was seized for having no insurance, tax or CVRT. She gave a false name and address when stopped and was also summonsed for no insurance. She pleaded guilty at Tullamore District Court, where Judge John King convicted her and fined her €100 for the false name and address and €300 with a two-year driving disqualification for no insurance.
