    Gavin Small, a 27-year-old man from Termon, Virginia, Cavan, was sentenced at Portlaoise District Court for criminal damage, trespass and intoxication. On 4 February 2022, a woman at Maglona Terrace, Mountrath Road, Portlaoise saw him hitting her car with a chair taken from a neighbour's garden, causing €340 worth of damage. He was staggering and drunk, having consumed alcohol while on medication for a mental health issue. He had no previous convictions, and a letter of apology and €400 compensation were presented in court. Judge Alec Gabbett applied Section 1(1) of the Probation Act.
