Martin Connors, 25, and Gavin Prentice, 30, broke into two neighbouring houses in the Drom Liath estate, Tullamore, Co Offaly, on the evening of 6 December 2024, stealing €24,000 and a Raymond Weil watch. Both men were caught in a special garda operation when their Audi was stopped in Kilmurray, Co Kildare, and €21,100 in cash was recovered from the vehicle. They pleaded guilty to burglary and possession of stolen cash at Tullamore Circuit Court. In June 2025, Connors was sentenced to four years and nine months and Prentice to five and a half years, with the final nine months of each term suspended for three years.
