On the night of 26 September 2026, Gabriel Pereira, a 37-year-old Brazilian national, was driving a rickshaw at North Wall Quay, Dublin 1, when he allegedly made a reckless manoeuvre in a cycle lane and struck a concrete bollard, causing the carriage to overturn.
