  • Five Tipperary men convicted of colluding in school bus tenders Collusion in tender bidding · Co. Tipperary

Five men from County Tipperary were unanimously convicted in December 2025 by a jury at the Central Criminal Court of colluding to drive tender prices higher in school bus services across Limerick, Tipperary, Clare, South Galway and Waterford between November 2014 and December 2016. The accused bus and taxi operators are Noel Browne, Larry Hickey, Andrew Walsh, Raymond Heney and Anthony Flynn, all of whom pleaded not guilty. The prosecution, brought by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission and the Director of Public Prosecutions, alleged the men coordinated bidding through meetings and information exchange to distort competition in Bus Éireann school transport tenders. After a trial lasting approximately three months, Judge David Keane adjourned sentencing to 6 July 2026.
