Dr Kevin Kilbride, a man in his 50s, was seriously stabbed at the HSE Daycare Medical Clinic on Usher's Island, Dublin 8, at around 9am on Friday 30 October 2026. Fionnbarra Ó Tuama, a 65-year-old man, was arrested at the scene by the Garda Armed Response Unit and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. He was charged with the attempted murder of Dr Kilbride and appeared before Dublin District Court on 31 October, where he was remanded in custody. He is due to appear before Cloverhill District Court by videolink on Wednesday.
