latest first- Military insubordination charges against Defence Forces officer dropped in Dublin Insubordination (military) · Co. Dublin
Lieut Col Fintan McCarthy was charged with insubordination by Col Jerry Lane in June 2020 after McCarthy made a complaint about Lane's conduct in October 2019. An investigation into the charges concluded with them being dropped, and McCarthy took a judicial review in the High Court to prevent them proceeding. In December 2022, the Defence Forces confirmed they would not contest McCarthy's case and the full hearing scheduled for January was set aside.
