On 20 May 2025, Gardaí seized approximately 2kg of cocaine with an estimated street value of €140,000 during a search of a residence in the Englishtown area of Limerick City. Evan Stokes, a 32-year-old man from Englishtown, was arrested at the scene and charged with two counts of possessing cocaine. He appeared before Limerick District Court on 22 May 2025, where he was granted bail and remanded for further directions in November. The seizure was part of ongoing investigations into the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Limerick area under Operation Tara.
