  On 12 July 2019 at 4.15pm, Evan Morgan, 21, of Tulla, Omeath, undertook a woman's vehicle on the left on the R173 at Ballymascanlon, Louth, and collided with it after pulling back into the lane following a vehicle parked on the hard shoulder. Both vehicles were written off. Morgan, who was 19 at the time, was prosecuted for careless driving and had previously appeared before the court for driving without insurance. Judge O'Reilly said he wanted the injured party not to be out of pocket. The case was adjourned at Dundalk district court to 22 December 2021.
