Eugene Quinlan, a 78-year-old man, is alleged to have driven drunk on 30 August 2022 at around 4.05pm, when a car mounted a footpath and collided with two vehicles at Bana (also given as Banba) Square, Nenagh, County Tipperary. He was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, a breath test showed 69mgs of alcohol per 100mls of breath, and he was charged, making no reply. He pleaded not guilty at Nenagh District Court but was convicted by Judge Elizabeth MacGrath, fined €350, disqualified from driving for two years, and bound by recognizance of €250 in his own bond.
