Eric Fowler, a 34-year-old man and father of two, was shot dead by one or more gunmen as he got out of his car at his family home in Blakestown Cottages, Coolmine, Dublin, on 22 December 2018. A getaway car believed to have been used by the killers was later found burnt out at Rusheeney Green in Clonsilla. No prosecutions were pending when an inquest into his death was held, and the jury returned a verdict of unlawful killing by persons unknown, as reported on 12 September 2023. Gardaí said no prosecutions were pending against anyone over the killing.
