Three men appeared at Portlaoise District Court in October 2025 accused of stealing tens of thousands of euro from Iarnród Éireann between December 2017 and September 2019. Ken Corcoran (52), Nigel Crosby (47), and Eoin Shortt (49) face 25, nine, and 16 counts of theft respectively, totalling €69,031.52, €24,735.01, and €44,296.51. The DPP directed prosecution on indictment and all three were remanded on bail. In November 2025, books of evidence were served and all three were sent forward for trial at Portlaoise Circuit Court.
