    Bernard McDonagh, 49, of Portlaoise, was convicted of drug driving and careless driving after a roadside stop on Harpurs Lane, Portlaoise, on 17 June 2022. He called Sergeant Eoin Gardiner a pig and told him to go home and beat his wife. A blood test was positive for a benzodiazepine. The judge jailed him for nine months, fined him €1,000, and banned him from driving for ten years.
