  Edward McDonagh (43), of 2 Victory Court, Longford, was charged over a trespass at a Longford home at 6:15am on 12 July 2022, after a homeowner chased an intruder to an apartment block and gave gardaí phone footage. Gardaí stopped him in January 2023 and later linked him to thefts from E Smoke Vaping shop on 27 January 2023 and an office at 3 Geraldine Terrace, Longford on 28 January 2023. He was charged with trespass, theft and handling stolen property and appeared before Longford District Court, where he was sentenced to seven months in custody backdated to 30 January 2023 with a consecutive eight-month sentence suspended for 18 months, reported in late February 2023.
