Edward Kelly (49), with an address in Birr, County Offaly, was charged over an incident on 14 May 2025, when gardaí said they stopped his car at 9am and saw him putting bags into his mouth. He was charged with possession of drugs for sale or supply, with placing suspected drugs in his mouth to conceal them, and with impeding Garda Helen Colleran.
