Cases
latest first- Cannabis possession charge dropped against Drogheda couple Possession of controlled drugs (cannabis) · Co. Louth
Cannabis herb worth €940,000 was found semi-concealed in the garage of the home of Eduard Chiper, a 49-year-old Moldovan man, and Natalia Chiper, a 43-year-old Moldovan woman, on Ballymakenny Road, Drogheda, Co Louth. The couple were arrested and charged with possession of controlled drugs at Drogheda District Court. The Director of Public Prosecutions dropped the charge in September 2019 because the prosecution could not prove the couple had exclusive access to the garage, as four workmen also had access in the days leading up to the seizure. The couple later settled a CAB case, allowing their mansion and other assets to be seized.
