latest first- Murder appeal reserved at Court of Appeal in Dundalk Murder · Co. Louth
Ingrida Maciokaite, a 31-year-old woman, was stabbed 19 times in a darkened archway in front of their six-year-old daughter on 18 September 2018 at Bridgewater Mews, Linenhall Street, Dundalk. Her former partner, 53-year-old Lithuanian man Edmundas Dauksa, pleaded not guilty to murder but guilty to manslaughter. In May 2021, a Central Criminal Court jury found Dauksa guilty of murder, rejecting his defence that he lacked murderous intent. In July 2023, the Court of Appeal reserved judgment on his appeal, in which his counsel argued the provocation defence should have been put to the jury.
