  Gemma O'Doherty, a journalist, was arrested by gardaí and brought before the High Court in Dublin on 10 April 2024 facing a contempt of court application. The application alleges she made statements in video posts in breach of an injunction obtained by Edel Campbell, a woman from Kingscourt, Co Cavan, whose son took his own life. The injunction restrains O'Doherty from harassing or intimidating Campbell, and the underlying civil proceedings concern the use of an image of Campbell's deceased son in the Irish Light newspaper. O'Doherty denied the harassment claims, said the injunction should never have been granted, and was released from Garda custody after the hearing.
