On Saturday 5 April 2025 at 7.55pm, gardaí saw a car driven by Eamonn Walsh, a man, swerving over the white line on the Castlecomer Road in Kilkenny, and the car pulled into the car park of the Glendine Inn. Walsh was arrested and taken to Kilkenny Garda Station, where a breath test showed 108mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath. At Kilkenny District Court he pleaded guilty to drink driving and to being intoxicated in public on a separate occasion, on 25 March 2025, with the public intoxication charge taken into consideration. The court, as reported in October 2025, imposed a three-year driving disqualification and a €300 fine, which is the latest development.
