Search warrants were executed on 15 December 2017 at Pallas Beg, Newtown; Arravale, Newtown; and Slate Quarry, Corbally, Portroe, where two track machines, two rock breakers and one dump truck were seized. The dump truck, stolen in the UK in November 2017, and one rock breaker, stolen in Limerick in 2008, were returned to their owners. Eamonn Stanley was arrested on 12 June 2018 and questioned in relation to handling stolen property, and was convicted in respect of the stolen rock breaker at Nenagh District Court in December 2020. In February 2022, Judge Elizabeth MacGrath at Nenagh Court granted disposal of the two Takeuchi mini diggers to An Garda Síochána, expressing doubt over the validity of Stanley's purchase invoice, which he had not produced until March 2021.
