On 3 March 2022, Eamon Moley, 49, a man from Culloville, caused a multi-vehicle collision at Shelagh, Hackballscross, on the Dundalk/Castleblayney Road in Louth when he crashed into the back of a Ford Fiesta, forcing it into an oncoming vehicle which then struck a stationary car. Moley was initially charged with dangerous driving, but the charge was reduced to careless driving. At Dundalk District Court in October 2022, Judge Eirinn McKiernan imposed a €200 fine and did not disqualify him from driving.
