  On 16 October 2026, gardaí executed a search warrant at the home of Eamon Keating in Castlecomer, Kilkenny, and seized a small quantity of cannabis and 28 alprazolam tablets. Keating admitted two counts of having drugs in his possession for personal use at Kilkenny District Court. The judge noted his 62 previous convictions, including six for sale and supply under the Misuse of Drugs Act, and described him as someone in serious addiction who engages in commercial transactions to fund that addiction. He was sentenced to four months in prison suspended for 18 months and a €200 fine for the cannabis count.
