On 28 March 2026 at approximately 10:30am, a man allegedly tailed Limerick-based hip-hop performer Tobi Omoteso through the city and forced his car to stop at the Moylish Roundabout on the Old Cratloe Road, where he struck the driver's side window with a wooden bat, shattering it and causing glass shards to enter Omoteso's eyes and leave him blind in one eye. Gardaí appealed for witnesses, dash-cam and video footage from the area. A man in his 20s was arrested on 28 April 2026 and identified as Dylan Tully, 27, of Ballinacurra, Limerick, who was charged with assault causing harm and damage to property. Tully appeared before Limerick District Court on 29 April 2026, was granted bail on conditions including no contact with the injured party, and the case was adjourned to 23 September 2026 for directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
