Dylan Lennon, a 27-year-old man from Newbridge, County Kildare, was charged with possession of drugs for sale or supply after a car he was in was driven at and collided with a garda patrol car on 14 and 15 July 2023. Suspected cocaine and ecstasy with a street value of about €70,000 were found at 925 Moorefield Crescent, Newbridge, and a quantity of drugs was found in a plastic container in the car. At his first appearance at Naas District Court on 18 July 2023, Mr Lennon was granted bail and the case was adjourned to 25 October. By the 26 October hearing before Judge Desmond Zaidan, he was remanded in custody, the judge refused a request to strike out the case, and it was marked peremptory against the State and adjourned to 12 December to allow time for DPP directions.
