Tadgh Farrell, a four-year-old boy, was killed in an arson attack in Edenderry, County Offaly; the articles do not give the date of the attack. Dylan Farrell, a 25-year-old man of Killane Drive, Edenderry, was ordered in March 2024 to complete 240 hours of community service, which he did not complete. He was charged with possessing cannabis at Killane Drive on 21 October 2020 and with obstructing a garda during a drugs search at Greenwood Park on 30 May 2024, and he pleaded guilty to both. At a Wednesday sitting of Tullamore District Court, reported on 20 December 2025, Judge Cody fined him €500 for the obstruction offence and, after he paid €1,000 to the Society of St Vincent de Paul, applied the Probation Act instead of the community service order.
