On 1 July 2026, Garda John McCrossan observed Dylan Cole, 22, coming from his home at Killane Drive, Edenderry, and noticed he appeared to be smoking cannabis. When told he would be searched under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, Cole began to run, and cannabis valued at €800 was seized. Cole was charged with possessing cannabis for sale or supply and obstructing a garda, and first appeared at Tullamore District Court on 24 July 2026. On 16 October 2026, he pleaded guilty to both charges and was remanded on continuing bail to appear on 10 February 2027 for a probation and welfare report, with an order for monthly urine tests at his own cost.
