  On 26 September 2024 at 1.40am, Dylan Cahill, a 68-year-old man from Pococke Lower, Kilkenny, is said to have spat in a garda's face while in custody at Kilkenny Garda Station. A search found a small quantity of cannabis herb valued at €10. He has been charged with assaulting a garda and, at Kilkenny District Court as reported on 20 February 2025, pleaded guilty to illegal possession of drugs and to obstruction arising from failing to comply with the search. Judge Geraldine Carthy asked for a probation report and adjourned the case to a sitting in April, which is the latest development.

  Dylan Cahill, a 68-year-old man from Pococke Lower, Kilkenny, was involved in three incidents in 2022. On 3 February 2022 he made a gesture at gardaí in a passing patrol car, and on 22 April 2022 gardaí searched his home and found cannabis and cocaine. On 8 May 2022 he was arrested after a male was reported shouting on Rose Inn Street, and a fixed charge penalty for the public order offence was not paid. At Kilkenny District Court, reported on 26 April 2023, he pleaded guilty to a number of charges, was convicted of possession of cocaine and sentenced to two months' imprisonment, with the other charges taken into consideration.
