latest first- Financial advisor pleads guilty over fraudulent fax to investors Fraud (deception) · Co. Dublin
Financial advisor Donal Quinn, 50, of Newtown Glen, Tramore, Co. Waterford, sent investors a fraudulent copy of a Bank of Ireland fax on 14 February 2012, meant to make them believe about €130,000 taken from an investment fund was still safe. Another unnamed individual has been charged with the theft. Quinn pleaded guilty at Dublin District Court to using the fraudulent fax, an offence under section 28 of the Theft and Fraud Act, and he is not accused of the theft itself. The case was reported on 5 March 2024, when the court adjourned for a pre-sentence probation report and Quinn remained on bail. Sentencing is due in July, and the defence has asked the court not to record a conviction.
