  Don McManus, a 36-year-old man from Buncrana, Co Donegal (one report says 37), was the subject of a road traffic stop on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Gransha Road, Buncrana, after a silver Ford Fiesta failed to indicate. Cannabis valued at €850 (one report says about €700) was allegedly found at his Earlsfort home, in the car, and in his possession at Buncrana Garda Station later that day. He appeared at Buncrana District Court in November 2025 charged with four offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act, and the case was adjourned to the February 12 sitting. On March 13, 2026, he pleaded guilty to four drug offences, and the judge adjourned sentencing to June 11 at Buncrana District Court.
