    In the early hours of 22 December 2017, Brian Kirby, 46, Patrick O'Halloran, 24, and Seamus Carroll, 27, assaulted Dion O'Connell at his mobile home in Wallstown, Roscrea, Tipperary. O'Connell sustained serious injuries including 30 stitches to his head and ear and spent four days in hospital. All three men pleaded guilty to assault causing harm. At Nenagh Circuit Court on 28 October 2022, Judge Quinn jailed Kirby for two years with the final 12 months suspended, and gave Carroll and O'Halloran suspended sentences.
