• Man charged with dangerous driving causing death in Cashel Dangerous driving causing death

  On 29 August 2023, a car driven by Thomas O'Reilly Jnr crashed into a wall near the Kingston area of Cashel, County Tipperary, at around 9pm. The crash killed his father Thomas O'Reilly Snr, aged 45, his mother Bridget O'Reilly, aged 46, and his three-year-old son Tom O'Reilly. His wife Diane, a woman in her 20s, was also injured but has since recovered. On 14 November 2024, Thomas O'Reilly Jnr, 23, of Waller's Lot, Cashel, was arrested and charged with dangerous driving causing death. He appeared at Cashel District Court, made no reply to the charge, and was remanded on bail of €200 to appear on 19 December for service of the book of evidence, with the DPP ruling the matter be sent to Tipperary Circuit Court on indictment.

  Thomas O'Reilly, 23, was charged in November 2024 with dangerous driving causing the deaths of his parents, Thomas O'Reilly Snr (45) and Bridget O'Reilly (46), and his three-year-old son Tom, in a single-vehicle crash at Kingstown, Cashel, Co Tipperary, on 29 August 2023. The car collided with a wall at around 9pm; a woman in her 20s was also injured but has since recovered. At Cashel District Court, O'Reilly made no reply when the charge was put to him and was remanded on bail with a not-to-drive condition. The DPP directed trial by indictment, and on 19 December 2024 the book of evidence was served, with the trial set for 4 March 2025 at Tipperary Circuit Criminal Court.
