Derek Blighe, 44, an Irish man and president of the right-wing Ireland First party, was alleged to have engaged in threatening and abusive behaviour towards Christopher Gomez, an Irish man and duty manager at Abbeyville House, during a protest outside the building in Fermoy, Co. Cork, on 22 December 2023. Blighe recorded Gomez on his mobile phone, told him to go back where he came from, and live-streamed the incident, which Gomez said traumatised him.
