  Three women were charged with assault causing harm, violent disorder and other offences following an alleged incident on 15 September 2024 at Hebron Road, Kilkenny, in which one woman suffered bruising to her hand from an alleged kick and another was taken to hospital by ambulance with abrasions to her head and side of her body. Demi Donovan, 32, of Urlingford; Ellen Donovan of Freshford; and Nora Jackman of Kilkenny were charged in connection with the incident, during which four young children were present. Judge Geraldine Carthy refused jurisdiction at Kilkenny District Court in February 2025, deeming the matter too serious for her court and sending it back to the Director of Public Prosecutions. In May 2025, all three defendants were sent forward for trial to Kilkenny Circuit Court and released on continuing bail with conditions.

  On 20 July 2023 gardaí executed a search warrant at the Urlingford, Kilkenny home of Demi Donovan, a woman, and she handed over a case containing 18 bags of cannabis and seven bags of cocaine, valued at about €2,000. She admitted the drugs were hers and that she intended to sell them, and her solicitor said she was in debt partly because she used cannabis. At Kilkenny District Court she pleaded guilty to two charges of drugs possession and two charges of having drugs for sale or supply, and other charges were taken into consideration. She was convicted on one count of sale and supply and sentenced to nine months' imprisonment, with the judge saying she would not consider suspending it, as reported on 21 February 2025.
