    Karl Hughes, 28, pleaded guilty to harassing the Kennedy family at their home in Rathfarnham, Dublin, between April and September 2019 over a €8,500 drug debt owed by their son. The victims, Deirdre Kennedy and her husband, a man, had lived in the house for more than 20 years. Hughes was sentenced to four years' imprisonment. On 24 January 2022, the Court of Appeal suspended the final year of his sentence, citing his offer of a place at the National College of Art and Design and his changed behaviour.
