    Declan Harris, 63, of 15 Harbour Row, Cobh, Cork, is charged with assault causing harm after allegedly pouring boiling water over his cellmate at Midlands Prison on 11 August 2020. The case was before Portlaoise District Court in June 2022, where Judge Patricia Cronin requested better quality photos of the injuries. In October 2022, Judge Andrew Cody refused jurisdiction and referred the case back to the DPP for further consideration. Harris was remanded on bail until 24 November 2022.
