Dawn Hamill, a 24-year-old woman, was found unresponsive with serious stab wounds at St Conleth's Car Park, Newbridge, Co. Kildare, shortly after 8am on 4 December 2024 and taken to Tallaght University Hospital, where she remains on life support. Cian Leavy, a 22-year-old man from Caragh Village, Naas, was arrested on 6 December, released without charge, and later presented himself at Kildare Garda Station on 13 December, where he was charged with assault causing harm. He was denied bail by Judge Des Zaidan at Naas District Court on 14 December and remanded to Cloverhill Prison. His next appearance is by video link at Naas District Court on 19 December.
