Two brothers, David Ward, 36, and Christopher Ward, 45, verbally abused a woman and her son at a graveside following a month's mind Mass for Austin Ward at Ballingaddy Cemetery, Kilmallock, Limerick, on 30 April 2022. The pair pleaded not guilty to engaging in threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour but were convicted by Judge Patricia Harney at Kilmallock Court. On 15 November 2022, David Ward was handed a one-month suspended prison sentence and Christopher Ward a 12-month probation bond. Both were ordered to have no contact with the complainant or her son and to stay away from an address at Gotoon, Kilmallock.
