In September 2021, a man in his 20s spat at his ex-partner and shattered the passenger window of her car in County Limerick, and in November 2021 he banged on her door at 2:30am and returned the next morning, entering the house believing someone was inside with her. He pleaded guilty at Kilmallock Court to three counts of breaching a safety order and one of criminal damage, and in February 2022 was sentenced to three consecutive one-month jail terms. Separately, David Ryan, a 34-year-old man from Limerick city, was sentenced at Limerick Circuit Court in February 2022 to 18 months for assaulting a food delivery driver with a knife in March 2018 and 12 months for a 2020 theft, both served consecutively.
