• Gardaí renew appeal in 2005 murder of David Nunan in Parteen Murder · Co. Clare

David Nunan, a 25-year-old man, was shot dead and his body was found by a farmer tending to cattle near a laneway in the Fairyhill area of Parteen, Co. Clare, on 28 October 2005. On the night of his death, he had been playing video games with a friend at his home in O'Malley Park, Limerick, and received a phone call at around 2am before telling his friend he was going for a spin in a car. Gardaí believe a wine-coloured Toyota Carina collected him from his home and drove from Southill to Moyross before heading towards Parteen. A murder investigation was launched at Mayorstone Park Garda Station, and seventeen people have been arrested but no one has been charged. On the 21st anniversary in October 2026, Gardaí renewed their appeal for information about the driver of the suspected car and anyone who had dealings with Nunan in the days before his death.
