  David McMahon, 41, a former golf tour operator from Tralee, Co Kerry, was arrested at Dublin Airport in August 2022 on foot of six arrest warrants issued in September 2021. He was charged with four counts of dishonesty by deception for sums between €30,000 and €100,000 and two counts of using false instruments totalling €600,000, relating to offences between 22 May and 2 July 2018. He was brought before a special sitting of Cork District Court where he was initially remanded in custody to Cork Prison. At a subsequent bail hearing, Judge Colm Roberts granted him bail subject to conditions including a curfew, daily signing on at Tralee Garda Station, and a €5,000 surety from his stepfather Trevor Thomas. He is due to appear before the District Court in Tralee on 25 August 2022 for the presentation of the Book of Evidence.
